“Gourmet Tokyo” Episode 22

I’ll be in your care. Hello, it’s Yumao.
At last this moment has come, on 2017/12/6 Hitorie released the new mini album “ai/SOlate”! Hitorie’s past, present, and so our ideas for the future, all of it squeezed tight into one album, I think we did well! Like we got it all together in one straightforward package, did we not, I’m so satisfied as it stands! Thanks to everyone who listened to it for us!
And to anyone who hasn’t yet, definitely go give it a listen!
I’ve been rewatching Star Wars all the way from the beginning recently, I was young when I first watched it, so I never noticed the intricate details. It’s definitely worth watching over. R2-D2 and C-3PO are like mascots they’re so crucial to the series, and the way they’re always watching over everything, throughout the whole story, they’re so precious I could cry. In the new episode 7, they should be about 80 years old since of when they were created and, they’re still bickering and arguing like children, yet they’re going to be alive for a whole century soon. Especially considering R2-D2’s recent scenario he’s participated and survived through 4, 5 wars by now. He’s the strongest, all the way. I wish for an ending where they can live happily in a happy place, from the bottom of my heart.
Now then, before wowaka had introduced “How to Eat Mouko Tanmen Nakamoto”, for this column. And just recently I too was finally able to chow down on Mouko Tanmen Nakamoto’s Hokkyoku ramen. With that said though, the choices this man makes, from his choice of spiciness to his lack of fear in it, are not normal. Something that’s spicy in the first place, he’ll make three times spicier. He will order an extra mini mabo don. The rice is even enveloped in mabo and red bean paste, so there’s not a single ingredient in that which isn’t spicy. The only thing my heart wants to order is water.
wowaka: If you were able to eat the Hokkyoku ramen then you’ll be able to take the three times spicy, no sweat~!
Is it really alright to believe him. With anxiety and expectations in my chest, I‘ve decided to face this man’s ultimate. At wowaka-daisensei’s side, I arrive at Mouko Tanmen Nakamoto Shinjuku.
Hokkyoku Ramen 3 times spicier
Hokkyoku Hard-boiled Egg
Mini Mabo Don

It’s more goopy than the Hokkyoku ramen, I’m scared.
First off I‘ll get myself warmed up with mabo part of the mini mabo don. It’s pretty good.
Then I’m on to the renowned Hokkyoku ramen. Ignoring the rest I head straight for the noodles. This is delicious! The scent brings out the rich flavor of the red pepper, even better than the Hokkyoku ramen!
Yet still what’s spicy is spicy. It hurts to simply eat. My mind is stupefied and my hearing is starting to fade. wowaka-daisensei is beside me with a chill look on his face and he’s even just slurping up the noodles. Does the red pepper not get stuck up in his throat I wonder……?
I had my enjoyment of the meal to get me through the intensity of the spiciness, and I was able to finish eating all of the noodles. I mixed the leftover meat and egg from the ramen with the mini mabo don of prior, and I was able to overcome the pickled ginger.
It was seriously miraculous how scrumptious this don made the meat taste. I usually never ever agree with the mix of meat and ramen, yet this proved to annihilate all of that. Amazing.
I’m already more than fully aware of how good the mix of pickled ginger, ramen egg and rice is, so I really enjoyed that. I finished the whole bowl.
The chilled Tokyo air never felt so warm as after that long battle.
You might just be able to call me a spice fiend at this point.
Thank you. wowaka-daisensei.
