Garandou Mae Zero Banchi
Empty Prayer Before Residency Zero
How many lives have lived?
Then how many times have I failed throughout ‘em?
Someone like you just won’t understand, the anatomy of my heart
Leave be the wastrels who find satisfaction in visible materialism
We cradle our pains from the formless things as we roll, c’mon
How many lives have I lived?
Then who’s fate have I messed throughout ‘em?
That wavering girl who’d forgotten the worth of pleasure, where has she gone
Whoever should I love
What ever should I take pride of, is anything worthy
“You expect a thing like me to just understand? That’s bullshit.”
A slovenly ghost, dug out the box of a heart
Then, haughtily made us all look at it
Despoil that thing with form, pour it into my body
Let me look upon a daydream, don’t even bother to pray for me.
Swallow even fallacies, let loose 'em empty words
Hey, I’ll treasure even a moment
Words are unnecessary… or, make believe so.
Despair?
Is that, reality?
Or is that, a half-joking mania?
What awaits those who indulge in pleasure; Heaven? Hell?
Whoever should I love
Whatever, should my heart be what I take pride of
“Can eyes drenched in amber color even try to deceive me?”
Ah it’s more or less acceptable
I can’t believe a piece of shit like you is beautiful
Let me look at those cloudless eyes
How much worth can you make out of this?
What other crap accompanies an empty heart?
I can’t look now
I can’t see anything
Nobody can give a damn
Yet nevertheless, I’m keeping track of every tick of time, in my heart and mind,
Anyone, himsome, everyone is the same
Always deceived by looks
I’m no exception either, I’m among them
But y'know
But y'know
I don’t have to throw any of this away
Dear hearts who are stripped of words, yet still living among people,
Their despair their reality
The ghosts the humans
Can’t I keep them for myself?
Come and pull out this pounding chest
Despoil that thing with form, pour it into my body
Let me look upon a daydream, don’t even bother to pray for me.
Swallow even fallacies, let loose 'em empty words
Hey, lose yourself for even just a moment
Make your mind blank and inevident
“Let me dance within a dream"
“Take me down the road with you whenever you go"
“Let me craze to wherever heights.“
“Who cares where we end up.”
Swallow the truth and the lies, let loose an empty heart
Hey, shiver me down to my heart now, let me dance now
With you
How many lives have lived?
Then how many times have I failed throughout ‘em?
We roll to embody motivation into our formless selves.
C'mon
Keynotes
The word 伽藍堂(Garandou) originates from “Garan”: temples and “Garanjin”: the guarders of temples,,, of who to worship would constitute a vast empty temple with only statues or altar fittings or youraku etc inside,, Ergo it came to define vast emptiness…
“如何” and “堂" are both read “dou”, I think the title is a portmanteau. 伽藍堂 and 如何 are both said a few times in the song also.
The writer and the guitarist’s official comments on the song. Translated from Hitori-Atelier Official Fan Club site blog: (https://privatter.net/p/4348646) - Post’s password is in all lower-case, four letter word-
There’s “Ah”s or “now”s in some lines because, the writer is often committed when it comes to making parallel lines of verses etc. start/end with the same syllables. So I tried to replicate it!
